These are opportunities to participate in field work involving the study and protection of birds and other wildlife. Generally, field projects require participation over a number of days; in some cases you may volunteer for a day.  If you know of field work opportunities of interest to Society members, please contact our President.

Tern Behavior - Great Gull Island
Volunteers needed for field research on Common and Roseate Terns. Contact in Helen Hays in March.

NYC Audubon Society
Volunteers needed for field projects in the metropolitan area.

Also:
AudubonNY seeks volunteers for its For the Birds! elementary education program.  During an 8 or 16-week session, the program teaches public school students, in grades two through five, environmental awareness and appreciation of nature through the study of birds.  For more information or to volunteer, please see:
